Joseph 'Bob' Baide

March 30, 1921 — January 4, 2013

Joseph “Bob” Baide went peacefully into the lord’s hands on January 4th, 2013 surrounded by his family, friends, and love. Born in Absher Montana on March 30th, 1921, he worked in the family grocery store in Clien Montana as a butcher. He then joined the army to fight in WWII. After the war ended he worked as a carpenter prior to working at the Billings Gazette for 30 years. He married Marion Anderson of Billings. They enjoyed 51 years together until Marion’s passing in 2006. They had only one child, Don Baide of Bozeman. Up until his passing Joe lived in his own home with the assistance of his family. He loved to cook and bake. His milkshakes, cookies, and smoked fish were legionary. He taught his son, grandson, and great granddaughter to fish well. His enjoyed spending hours at his son’s store and was an avid Seattle Mariners fan. He is survived by his son Don with Sharon Voelkel, Granddaughter Jenny and Great Granddaughter Aurora residing in Iowa, and Granddaughter Jessica and Grandson Jason. He is also survived by his younger brother Don from Butte and many nephews and nieces. His death was preceded by his parents Anna Yerella and Joseph Baide, and four sisters, and two brothers. His cremation has taken place and a memorial service is being planned for June. His wishes are no flowers but any remembrance be made in his name to the Bozeman Food Bank, 602 Bond Street, Bozeman, MT 59715.
