Jon Manke, 62, of Manhattan, Montana passed away June 1, 2008. He was born to the late Robert and Dorothy (Nielsen) Manke on May 4, 1946 in Santa Barbara, California. Jon attended high school in Hayward, California, and later became a star wrestling champion in college. He had an invitation to be part of the U.S. Olympic Team, but enlisted in the Navy instead. He received his medical training during Vietnam from the Navy, where he was a Corpsman. After returning from Vietnam, he became an RN, working in Phillipsburg at Granite County Memorial Hospital for 22 years. Jon was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Robert Manke. He is survived by his sons, Kody Manke of Manhattan, Montana, Karl Manke of Ryegate, Montana; one daughter, Jamie Susslin of California; sisters Kathy Curtiss and Debi Garcia Temple of Livermore, CA. A graveside service will be held Friday, June 6, 2008 at Meadowview Cemetery at 3:00 pm. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 3:00 at the cemetery. A gathering will follow at Jon#8217;s house, 4285 Amsterdam Rd in Manhattan. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Disabled American Veterans, P.O.
