John Timothy Gronli (Martinsdale, MT) died July 9, 2015. He was born in Livingston, MT on December 5, 1956 to John and Jeanne (Ellertson) Gronli. Tim and his family lived in Harlowton, MT from 1961-1966, during which time they acquired the family cabin near Martinsdale, which Tim has always considered home. In 1966 the family moved to Shelby, MT where Tim attended school and graduated from Shelby High School in 1975. He then attended Pacific Lutheran University and Golden Valley Lutheran College.
Tim married Jody Werner on August 10, 1981. They resided near Wabasso, MN and have three children: Shanlee Marie, Joshua Timothy and Micah Werner. In 1995, Tim moved back to Montana and most recently has lived near Martinsdale where he has cared for his parents and the family property.
Tim had a great love of Montana and the outdoors. He enjoyed woodcutting, hunting and fishing. His smile, witty personality and free spirit are remembered fondly by many. He was a loving person with a big heart, he will be greatly missed.
Tim is survived by his parents - John and Jeanne Gronli; his children - Shanlee (Troy) Davis (grandchildren Thayden and Sierra), Josh (Jessica) Gronli (granddaughter Jaelyn), and Micah (Abby) Gronli; his special companion Donna Pippenger and her children Kayla (Jerromie)-(grandchildren Maddie, Preston & Carson) and Heidi (Gerrod); and his siblings Cheryl Mundt, Deb (Bill Kaczrowski) Hokanson, Peter Gronli, and Daniel (Terry) Gronli.
A service celebrating his life was held on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at the mountain home he loved.
