Joann A. Gogal, 59, of Bozeman, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, February 28, 2010. She was born November 14, 1950 in Rochester, NY to Grandville Leroy #8220;Roy#8221; and Pauline Pearl (Wasylishyn) Ackley. She graduated from Charlotte High School in 1968. Following high school she married Thomas Gogal and the couple made their home in Bozeman, where she raised her two girls Joleen and Jamie. She worked at Country Lanes in Bozeman for 30 years as the manager until it closed in 2006. Joann loved all animals, she enjoyed relaxing with the sun on her face, but mostly she will be remembered as a strong, selfless woman, passionate about her family and finding joy in living her life for others. She was preceded in death by her father Roy. Survivors include her husband Thomas of Bozeman, two daughters and son-in-laws Joleen and Chris Dann of Covnington, WA, Dr. Jamie and Kevin Straub of Raymore, MO; granddaughters Madison, Makayla, Kendall and Taylor; her mother Pauline Ackley of Bozeman; brothers Gordon (Sharlene) Ackley of Holden Beach, NC, Roger Ackley of Rochester, NY, and Kenyon (Kimra) Ackley of San Deigo, CA. A celebration of Joann#8217;s life will be held 2:00 pm, Friday, March 5, 2010 at Evangelical Free Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Heart of the Valley Animal Shelter, PO Box 11390, Bozeman, MT 59719.
