Joan Chambers

Joan Margaret Mitchell Chambers, 83, of Bozeman, formerly of New Jersey, passed away on Monday March 16, 2015. She was the beloved daughter of James B. Mitchell and Lydia Adamcik and was the loving sister of Nona Marie (Dr. William Flynn). Joan was born and raised in Smithville, Texas, received a Bachelor of Arts from Trinity College, and a Masters in Educational Technology from Long Island University. She spent her life teaching in and out of the classroom. Joan married the love of her life, Ralph Logan Chambers in 1952 and together they raised seven children. She possessed a contagious smile and an entertaining sense of humor. She was a courageous, intelligent woman and lived with honor, dignity and faith. Her love of music and reading was only outshined by her love of family and their love of her. Joan was preceded in death by her third child Claire. Survivors include her children Ralph M., Mark (Diane), Nona (Stephen Wiltzen), Helen, Mary Jo (Kevin) Wood, and Ruth Ann (Carmen) Yannelli. Her grandchildren Trista, Jillian, Todd, Samantha, Cassandra, Ben, Rachel, Vincent, and Jack, were a source of recurring joy in her life.
