Jessie Handl

Jessie “Susie” Louise (Sweet) Handl, 84, of Bozeman, MT passed away on October 19, 2023, at Park Haven surrounded by her family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at Belgrade Alliance Church, 205 W. Cameron Ave, Belgrade on Tuesday October 24th at 11:00 AM.

Jessie Louise Sweet was born on December 8,1938 in Great Falls, MT to Clarence and Delia (Triplett) Sweet. She grew up and attended school in Great Falls but eventually lived in Los Angeles, Havre, Miles City, and finally Bozeman.

In March of 1968 she married Eugene Jerry Handl in Great Falls. The two would stay together for the next 55 years. During this time the two raised a family and Susie, as most people knew her, helped as a leader for Sparks. She also enjoyed Bible studies, reading, dancing, traveling, flower gardening and visiting her kids and grandkids.

Susie will be remembered for her sweet tooth and her cookies. She was a kind woman who wrote many letters to friends and family. Kindness and joy radiated from her and was evident to all those who remember her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Art; and grandson, Benjamin Long.

She is survived by her husband, Eugene “Gene” Handl; children, Debby (Mike) Haas of Petoskey, MI, Karen (Mike) Long of Delta, Co; grandchildren, Madison (Jacob) Budnik, Alisse (Jordon) Conklin, Korenna Haas, McKenzie (Noah) Dallos, Isabella Long, Conner Long, Olivia Long; great-grandson, Bridger Budnik; brother, Fred Sweet of Great Falls; numerous sisters and brothers-in-law; nieces and nephews.
