Jeremiah Sipes, Capt., US Army, 33, formerly of Belgrade, died on Saturday, January 1, 2011 in North Carolina due to injuries from an accident. Jerry was born September 26, 1977 in Modesto, CA to Dan and Dena (Jones) Sipes. He lived in California until he was 14 years old and then moved to Belgrade, Montana. He graduated from Belgrade High School in 1996. He worked for Auto Trim Design until he enrolled in Montana State University, joining the Army ROTC and graduating in 2006. In 2004, he and Heather Reynolds were engaged and were married in Bozeman on July 21 of that year. They honeymooned in Glacier National Park and after initial training, they moved to their first duty station in Ft. Bragg. Jerry became the Intelligence Officer for the 3rd BCT 82nd Airborne Division 5-73 Cavalry Regiment. He served in that capacity until his death. He loved his babies and they were the pride of his life. Hallie was born on October 16, 2006 and Kellan was born on March 29, 2008. Jerry enjoyed playing hockey and especially liked fly fishing. He is survived by his wife, Heather Sipes of Ft. Bragg, NC; children Hallie (4) and Kellan (2 frac12;); parents Dan and Dena Sipes of Bozeman, MT; and his sister Melissa Hereim, of Billings, MT.
