Jeffrey Carl Champion, 53, of Bozeman, passed away April 29, 2010. He was born August 27, 1956 in San Fernando, California, a son to Carl and Mariam (Barnes) Champion. Jeff was raised in Southern California; he was a California surfer, skateboarder and motor cross rider. He graduated from Huntington Beach High School in 1974. He moved to Chicago in 1977 and soon after started a plumbing apprenticeship. While in Chicago he met Christine Czach, they were married February 5, 1977. The couple moved to Jackson Hole, Wyoming in 1978, where they raised their 3 children. Jeff and Christine later divorced. In Jackson, Jeff owned Champion Nursery, where he specialized in plant maintenance and sales. He later returned to his plumbing career, owning and operating Accurate Plumbing and later Precision Plumbing. Jeff moved to Bozeman, Montana in 2004 to be near his son and daughter-in-law Jeremy and Katie Champion. He enjoyed hot rods, boating, NASCAR racing, and most of all driving his red corvette. Jeff is remembered for his hospitality, entertaining, and being king of the BBQ. Jeff enjoyed time with family and friends, whether on the lake or in the backyard. He was preceded in death by his mother Miriam. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law Jeremy and Katie of Bozeman, MT; two daughters Lindsey of Wilmington, NC and Brianna of Chicago, IL; father Carl of Florida; step-father Ron Price of Odessa, TX; siblings Kari, Todd and Jill. A celebration of Jeff#8217;s life will be held in Bozeman, MT and Jackson Hole, WY at a later date.
