Jeanne Stevens, 90, left this world peacefully on March 25, 2009. With her loving nature, ready smile and dry wit, Jeanne brought joy to so many lives and will be missed by all who knew her. Born Jeanne Marie Vieth in Newport, KY on August 18, 1918, of Albert and Marie Vieth, Jeanne spent most of her life in the Cincinnati area. She married Virgil Austin in 1943, was his devoted wife for over 20 years and a loving mother to their children, Dale, Mary Ellen and Kevin. Her career as an RN brought great joy to her and comfort to many whose lives she touched. She found her creative outlet in art and spent countless hours sketching and painting flowers, seashores, mountains and people. Some of her most precious memories were painting expeditions with her fellow artists. She married Dominic Stevens in 1973 and they spent 14 blissful years laughing, traveling and enjoying friends and family. In 2000, she came to Montana to live with her daughter, Mary and spent her last years lovingly cared for by the devoted staff at Gallatin Rest Home. Jeanne leaves her brother, Frank (Judy) Vieth of Ft. Thomas, KY, daughter Mary Brauer of Bozeman, MT, sons Dale and Kevin Austin of Cincinnati, OH and Wilder, KY, grandchildren Matthew ( Jen) Brauer of Billings, Jeff (Johana) Brauer of Belgrade, Ashley, Lindsay and Zachary Austin of No. KY and Cincinnati, OH and great grandchildren Caden and Alexis of Billings, MT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at San Antonio Catholic Church in Cincinnati, OH. Visitation will take place at 9:30 am prior to the service.
