Jay Paul Jelinek Jr., age 60, died on Monday, November 14th. Paul passed away peacefully, at home, after a hard fought two year battle with cancer. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 34 years, Lisa, and his son Jack.
Paul was born to Jay Paul Jelinek Sr. and Miriam Helen (Devereux) Jelinek in Seattle, Washington. Paul's lifelong dream was to retire to Montana where he enjoyed many summers visiting his grandparents and other family. Paul and Lisa recently settled into their dream home on 20 beautiful acres in Belgrade, Montana.
Paul and Lisa met in Alaska while working for Alaska Airlines. They were married in Seattle in 1982, where they lived and raised their son, while continuing work at Alaska Air. Besides family and friends, Paul's great love was skiing first, then hunting, fishing, and working on his vintage Sunbeam Tiger. A testament to Paul's character, were his many loyal friends from all over the country.
Paul was preceded in death by his father, Jay. In addition to his wife and son, Paul is survived by his mother, Miriam, and sisters, Lorrie Jelinek; Jane Harrison, and her husband Jim; Carol Jelinek and her husband Don Riddell; nieces and nephews, Annie Harrison, JohnPaul Harrison, Devereux Riddell, Ruby Riddell, and Mary Riddell; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Paul's Memorial Mass will be at 11 AM, Saturday November 19th, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church located in Belgrade, MT.
