Janet C. Dougherty

Janet C. Dougherty, 82, of Bozeman, passed away, Sunday, September 22, 2013. She was born March 7, 1931 in Cleveland, Ohio to Percy and Gertrude (Bleil) Carson. She graduated from East Cleveland High School and attended Miami Ohio University. She married Bill Badger and they had 3 children, the couple later divorced. She worked in New York, Albuquerque, NM and Yellowstone National Park and then moved to Bozeman in the early 1990’s. Janet worked at the KUSM Public Television at the University as a receptionist. Janet met John Dougherty at a dance at the Elks. They married in 1999. Janet and John enjoyed traveling together and working in their yard. Janet was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, The Eagles Lodge and the Elks Lodge. Survivors include her husband John Dougherty, 3 children Bob Badger of Albany, NY, John Badger of Baltimore, MD and Debra Bryant of Charlotte, NC; 2 grandchildren Michael and Kelly; and a brother Bob Carson of Surprise, AZ. Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
