James Richard Snyder

James Richard “Jim” Snyder, 74, of Gallatin Gateway, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2015. He was born January 19, 1941 in Salem, Ohio to Thomas Frederick and Dorothy Louise (Kaercher) Snyder. He was raised in Carlsbad and Escondido, California. He graduated from Escondido High School.

He served our country in the US Navy. Following his honorable discharge he married Jo Hanna Erwin on January 18, 1963 in Las Vegas, NV. Together they raised 3 children Mardi, Scott and Christy.

Together with his brother Tom, they owned and operated a RV and Trailer dealership in Escondido, CA. Jim and Jo Hanna lived in Mexico for 16 years. In 1993 they purchased the Cinnamon Lodge in the Gallatin Canyon which they owned for 16 years until retirement. In 2009 Jim and Jo Hanna moved to Gallatin Gateway.

Jim loved fishing in the Sea of Cortez. He also enjoyed hunting, fast cars, building and driving his dune buggies. His greatest joy in life was his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Scott and his brother Tom.

Survivors include wife of 52 wonderful years Jo Hanna of Gallatin Gateway; two daughters Mardi Mackay of Seattle, WA and Christy Snyder of Bayfield, CO, 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Private family services will be held.
