James Leon Watson

February 26, 1960 — January 8, 2023

James L. Watson, 62, passed away January 8, 2023, after spending the day at his favorite fishing hole. Jim was the second born to Kenneth and Judith (Blanchard) Watson on February 26, 1960, in Great Falls, Montana. He graduated from Rudyard High School and then went on to receive an Associate’s Degree at Helena Vo-Tech. It was there he met his first wife Debbie (Dickinson) Watson. A few years later Jim’s only son, Travis, was born. The pride and joy of his life.

Jim met the love of his life, Cheri (Lundy) Watson, and was married a year later at Frontier Town on June 17, 2000. Afterwards, they moved to Bozeman to start their life together. For the last 15 years, Jim worked as a welder for Martel Construction and took great pride in his many projects around the Bozeman area.

Jim enjoyed many hobbies including mining for gems, woodworking, and metal work but there is nothing he loved more than to go fishing and hunting with his family and friends. Jim was a hard worker and took great pride in all he did. He had a great sense of humor and a laugh that will be forever remembered.

Jim was preceded in death by his father: Kenneth L. Watson.

He is survived by his wife: Cheri, of 22 years; mother: Judith Watson of Great Falls; son: Travis Watson (Tauna Watson) of Helena; sisters: Jackie Watson (Russ Twedt) of Fort Benton and Barbara Wolfe (Don Wolfe) of Chester; nieces: Nikole Bonato (Jamin Bonato) of Deer Lodge and Erin Wolfe of Billings.
