James 'Jim' Delaurier

James Joseph #8220;Jim#8221; DeLaurier, 63 of Bozeman, passed away December 25, 2007 at the Bozeman Deaconess Hospital. He was born February 9, 1944 in Plainfield, New Jersey the son of Roger and Rita (Brown) DeLaurier. He was raised and educated in New Jersey. He served our country in the US Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Following his honorable discharge from the Navy he made his home in New Jersey, until moving to Bozeman, Montana in 1976. Jim was an outdoorsman and was most at home in the mountains, he enjoyed camping and was an avid hunter, and fisherman. He also competed in the Mountain Man Black Powder Marksmanship contests. Jim married Elizabeth Hennessy in 1986 in Bozeman. Jim spent the last 22 years of his life cooking for the residents at Bozeman Care Center (now know as Evergreen Care Center) and 10 years at Mountain View Care Center. Jim was a member of the American Legion and a very active member of the Eagles Lodge, he had served as secretary for many years. Jim will be remembered for his kind heart and ready smile. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Kenneth and his grandson Marc Peter. Survivors include his wife Elizabeth #8220;Liz#8221; of Bozeman; two sons and daughter-in-laws Peter and Terrie DeLaurier of Centennial, CO and Marc and Susie DeLaurier of Camp Pendleton, CA; grandchildren Nicole, Luc, Dante, Christian, Kyle and Skylar; and his sister Barbara Ande and brother-in law George Ande of Hillsborough, NJ. Visitation will be held Friday from 5 to 8 pm at Dahl Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Saturday at Dahl Funeral Chapel. Followed by interment at Sunset Hills Cemetery, with military rites. A reception will follow the interment at the Eagles Lodge. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.dahlcares.com
