James (Jim) Dean Woody

May 18, 1959 — March 6, 2015

James (Jim) Dean Woody (age 55) passed away on Friday March 6, 2015, at home with his loving wife and daughter by his side. He went to join the Lord for his eternal fishing trip after courageously battling cancer for five years. He mentioned, on numerous occasions, what an honor it would be to go fishing with Jesus every day, and we know he is doing just that. He was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, and uncle who valued family and friends with deep care, honor, and respect. Jim was born in Chico, CA, on May 18, 1959, to Milford and Ruth Woody. He attended Hamilton High School in Hamilton City, CA, and excelled in a multitude of sports activities. Upon graduating from high school, he attended Butte College then obtained a state contractor license. Jim worked as a foreman for Tim Dean Construction for many years and was a very devoted employee. A few of his local construction jobs included: Belgrade Post Office, The Wingate Inn, Langohr’s Flowerland, and various local residences. He had many hobbies which included: fly fishing and tying, ice fishing, hunting, camping, taxidermy, reloading, and many other outdoor activities. He is preceded in death by his father Milford Woody, sister Carrie Larson, and grandmother Edith King. He is survived by his mother Ruth Salgado, step mother Connie Woody, wife Brooke Woody, daughter Alexa Woody, son Daniel Woody, grandsons Landen and Jaxen Woody, siblings: Larry, Thomas, Gloria, Barbara, Elizabeth, and Angela, and many nieces and nephews. He was dedicated to his family and derived great satisfaction from hard work. He always had a positive attitude on life and influenced his family in more ways than can be listed. The world is indeed a better place for having had Jim in it. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 28, 2015, at 11:00 am at the Belgrade Community Church. A lunch will be provided following the service. A special thank you to Rocky Mountain Hospice and all of the other wonderful community members for their support and care during this difficult journey. Memorial contributions can be made in Jim’s honor to the Belgrade Community Church, 119 S. Broadway, Belgrade, MT, 59714.
