Inez Hecox

November 11, 1924 — July 2, 2009

Inez May Hecox, 84, passed away in her son#8217;s home north of Bozeman on July 2, 2009. Inez was born November 11, 1924 in Belgrade, Montana to Oscar and Elnora (Kinsey) Coleman. She graduated from Belgrade High School and then worked for an accountant in Bozeman for 5 years. She met Wallace Gowen Hecox and were married on September 24, 1947. They farmed together on Foster Creek, then moved to the family homestead on Springhill Road. They were blessed with three children, Charles, Richard and Mary Kay. Inez was a Cub Scout leader and an active member of the DAR for over twenty years, serving as treasurer for many of those years. She had a passion for genealogy and spent many hours researching her family history and the history of anyone who asked for her help. She loved gardening and yard work. She was preceded in death by her husband Wallace, sister Juanita Bolle, and her parents. She is survived by her son Charles; son and daughter-in-law Richard and Renee#8217;; daughter Mary Kay; grandson Zachary all of Belgrade; five nieces, Nancy Bolle and Pam (Ron) Snell of Belgrade, Anita (Donald) Reynolds of Molt, Patricia (Robert) Johnson of Laurel, and Juanita (Dwayne) Pechia of Choteau; nephew Ted Bolle of San Diego, CA, and many grandnieces and nephews. There will be a Celebration of Inez#8217; Life at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday July 7, 2009 at Dahl Funeral Chapel followed by interment in Sunset Hills Cemetery. The family asks that memorial contributions be sent to the Pioneer Museum, 317 W. Main St. Bozeman, MT 59715.
