Hubert Rand Oslund

H. Rand Oslund passed away at home on May 30, 2018, after a long-fought battle with multiple sclerosis.

Rand was born in Dearborn, Michigan on June 17, 1935, the only child of Hubert and Sue Mae Oslund. He attended Hillsdale and the University of Michigan where he received a bachelor’s degree in business and a master’s in Radio and Television.

He started his own marketing and communication company named “Marcom” and was in business for 30 years before moving to Bozeman in the late 1990’s.

Rand was an accomplished fly fishing enthusiast and was a past member of Trout Unlimited chapters in Michigan and Montana. Rand was also a past board member of the National Trout Unlimited Board of Directors.

Rand also enjoyed skeet shooting and participated in many competitions, which earned him top honors at the World Championship in San Antonio, Texas, and Canada gun clubs.

Rand was married for 42 years to his wife, Michele, who, along with his family, will miss him dearly.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held later. Donations can be made to the MS chapter in Montana or the Gallatin History Museum in Bozeman, MT.
