Babe Lenehan, 92, died in her longtime Belgrade home on March 4, 2010. She was born January 6, 1918 at the family home in Bear Canyon. There she was raised with her siblings, twin sister, M. Pose Dougherty, and brothers Bill and Lester. She graduated from Belgrade High School. She then married the love of her life, Art on October 26, 1935. They had two daughters to fill their home, Eileen (Chick) and Leona (Niff). Babe was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, twice over, and friend. Throughout her life, she was a wonderful conversationalist, always knowing what was going on in this world. Her fabulous cooking abilities were always well received by family and friends. It was a real treat to go to Granny#8217;s. She had a passion to garden, especially to tend to her favorite sweet peas and moon flowers. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, brothers and her husband Art. She is survived by her daughters, Chick and Niff; grandsons Bud and Terry Counts, Craig and Bob Tonn; granddaughters, Cindy Bucher and Suzanne Tonn; great grandsons, Cameron Bucher, Shane and Cory Counts, Alister Tonn; great granddaughter Desirae (Con) Bandy; great great grandchildren, Hayden and Tori; nieces Kaye Thayer and Sally Za (Jim) Larsen and Faye Robbins; and nephews Jim and Ken Jenkins. Others close to her include Pat Bucher, Dave Weise, Wilbur Spring, Jr., Bill Sales, Hup Davis and Griz. Special thanks to the staff at Rocky Mountain Hospice for their caring of Babe. Memorials may be sent to the Belgrade Senior Center, 92 E Cameron Ave, Belgrade, MT 59714. Family and friends are invited to attend graveside services on March 8, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Bozeman.
