Helen DeGidio, 92, of Bozeman passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2009. Helen was born on February 24, 1917 in Harlowton, Montana to Joseph and Marian Peccia. She attended school in Harlowton and was a graduate of Harlowton High School. She married Julian DeGidio, Sr. on July 17, 1937 in Harlowton, and the two lived in Cumberland, Wisconsin until they moved back to Harlowton in 1941. In 1942, the couple moved to Three Forks, where they lived until moving to Bozeman in February 1972. Helen was an active member of the National Catholic Society of Foresters, the Senior Social Center, Retired Senior Volunteer Program and Gallatin County Home Extension. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Julian Sr. in 1984; son Robert in June 1990; parents, Joseph and Marian Peccia; sister Edith Engebretson; brother Irvin Joe Peccia; grandson Donny DeGidio; and great-grandson Jake McKay. Survivors include her children, Julian Jr. (Bitsy) of Bozeman, William J. (Debi) of Alexandria, MN, and Donna (Bill) Molendyke of Tillamook, OR; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; brother John Peccia of Harlowton; sister Rose Hall of San Diego, CA; and numerous nephews and nieces. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, November 16, 2009 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery.
