Harriet Adelaide Bassett Isbell, 90, of Belgrade, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014. Daughter of Harry Howard and Margaret Teague (Briggs) Bassett, she was born January 25, 1924 in Long Beach, California. Harriet grew up and was schooled in Long Beach, graduating from high school there. During WWII, she worked at Douglas Aircraft, but was mostly a housewife and mother. She married Gilbert B. O’Malley Sr. in 1941; they had five children, Kathleen, Carol, Lois, Steven and Gilbert Jr. and lived in Palmdale, California. She was widowed in 1975. In 1988, Harriet married Earl Henry Isbell in Livingston, Montana. They moved to Belgrade in 1988. Harriet enjoyed Geneology, World and US Stamp collections and some antiques. She belonged to the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority in Palmdale, California. Harriet was preceded in death by: her parents; first husband, Gilbert; second husband, Earl; and daughters Kathleen O’Malley Goodner in 1995 and Lois Deann O’Malley in 2006. She is survived by: her daughter, Carol Ruth Komnick in Washoughal, WA; sons, Steven Howard (Cheryl) O’Malley of Rapid City, South Dakota and Gilbert Bynard (Becky) O’Malley Jr. of Palmdale, California; step-son Ronald Isbell of Florida; step-daughter Beverly Upchurch of Lancaster, California; sister, Carol B. Burwell of Grass Valley, California; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Interment has taken place at the Springhill Cemetery.
