Harold Eugene 'Gene' Hermanson, passed away December 26, 2014 at the Gallatin Rest Home. Gene was born September 4, 1925 in Milaca, MN to Samson Eugene and Olive Mary (Gilbertson) Hermanson. Gene grew up in the Williston North Dakota area. Gene was proud to serve our country in the US Navy in the South Pacific Theatre in WWII. He was honorably discharged from active duty in January of 1946. He married Ruby Bernice Robinson on January 4, 1947 in Glasgow, MT, they had 2 daughters Jeannie and LaVonne (Dickie) . The couple later divorced. He Married Alice Jean Bradley on June 7, 1969. During his life Gene worked as an heavy equipment operator in Highway construction. He also bartended in the off season. Gene enjoyed gardening and raising chickens, he had a soft spot in his heart for animals. He will be remembered for being a true gentleman. He was preceded in death by parents; his wife Alice, his former wife Ruby; two brothers Clifford and Myron Vinger; a sister Marlene Dietz; brother-in-law Bob Dietz; sister-in-law Sandy Vinger and son-in-law Jim Peterson. Survivors include Gene's 2 daughters Jeannie Kirby of Missoula and LaVonne (Dickie) of Great Falls, MT; 3 step-children Bob (Fran) Bradley of Bozeman, MT, David Bradley of Belgrade, MT, and Lori McAllister of Belgrade, MT; nephew, Gordon Akens; 2 grandchildren Kristin Kirby Wilson of Polson, MT and Justin (Lindsey) Kirby of Bozeman, MT; 4 great grandchildren Tanner, Colter, Jarrett and Trent; 5 brothers Richard (Doris) Vinger of Grand Forks, ND, Orren (Elaine) Vinger of Billings, MT, Larry Vinger of Williston, ND, Dennis (Barb) Vinger of Surprise, AZ and Russell (Collie) Vinger Joliet, MT; 2 sisters Carol (Ron) Haug West Fargo, ND and Gayle (Lonnie) Malwitz of Lakeville, MN; 2 sisters-in-law Sylvia Vinger of Williston, ND and Doris Vinger of Bozeman, MT A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
