Gertrude Elaine Baron, best known as #8216;Trudy#8217; to her friends and relatives passed away on the afternoon of 19 October just short of what would have been her 90th birthday. She was born in Alameda, California across the bay from San Francisco on 2 November 1919 and graduated from Alameda High School (1937). Her parents were Freda and Loren Taylor; both parents in turn were offspring of immigrants from Western Europe. Trudy spent most of her life in the Bay Area of California. For many years Trudy attended Baptist church services in Oakland, California. Trudy relocated to Montana over a year ago to be closer to family members in Bozeman and Idaho. She initially resided at the Highgate Senior Living Home in Bozeman and later with family in Bozeman. After sustaining broken ribs from an accidental fall, Trudy was undergoing what appeared to be a successful rehabilitation at the Gallatin Rest Home when she suddenly suffered a life ending apparent heart attack. Trudy was a loving mother of five children and a devoted wife for deceased husbands John Beak and later Joseph Baron. Trudy#8217;s first husband Win Turner, age 97, currently resides in Washington State. Trudy#8217;s eldest son Scott Turner lives in Salmon, Idaho, eldest daughter Ruth Gorman lives in Hawaii, middle son Gary Turner lives in Bozeman, Montana and youngest son Paul Turner resides in Hayward, California. Trudy#8217;s youngest daughter, Linda Green (maiden name Beak), lives in Alameda, California. Trudy has a surviving younger brother Erven Taylor who resides in Richmond, California. Trudy retired from the Alameda Naval Air Station where she enjoyed a career in graphic arts. She also enjoyed success owning and managing rental properties. Her hobbies in earlier life included art, knitting, crocheting, and dancing. She often spoke fondly about numerous family camping trips to Yosemite National Park. Family, acquaintances, and her close and most caring friend, Theresa Baron in California, will dearly miss Trudy. Trudy brightened the day for all those who knew and loved her. Memories of Trudy#8217;s generosity and gracious life will remain constant within our hearts and souls. May God bless this wonderful lady. Memorial arrangements are pending at this time.
