Geraldine Rose O'Neil Ahl was born May 24, 1926 in Saint Cloud, Minnesota, to John Patrick and Charlotte (Franek) O'Neil. The family moved to Montana in 1928, settling on a ranch, in the Shields River Valley. The family moved to Livingston where Gerry graduated from Park County High school 1944.
Gerry married Ben Vaughan in 1945. They ranched on the Flying D, raising horses for the U.S. Seventh Cavalry until the Jeep was invented in World War II. For a number of years they provided horses and guided tourists at Karst Stage in Gallatin Valley and Chico Hot Springs. Gerry moved to Bozeman and worked many years as a silk finisher at Barrell Cleaners and then at West Gate Cleaners. The dry cleaners changed hands 13 times but Gerry always remained. In 1966 Ben passed away.
In 1971 Gerry married Francis Ahl, they resided in Bozeman until his death in 2001. Gerry spent her remaining years going to Mass, swimming at Eagle Mount, and enjoying time spent with family.
Gerry is survived by sisters: Jean Bowlds, Rita Heidemann, Elizabeth (Robert) Barnhart and her brother Philip (Donna) O'Neil. She is also survived my many nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she dearly loved. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Patricia Stephel, Mary Greene, and brothers John Jr., Paul, and Charles O'Neil.

The family will gather to say the Rosary at 5:30 pm, Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Dahl Funeral Chapel; a vigil service will follow at 6:00 pm.
The Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 am, Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, followed by interment of the urn at Sunset Hills Cemetery.
