Gary Kerr, 65, passed away suddenly on August 25, 2019 in Bozeman. Gary was born in Indiana and raised in and around Columbus and Dublin, Ohio. He graduated from Dublin High School, where he participated in golf, football and wrestling, and attended SW Community College, American School of Technology.
Gary enjoyed riding his bike, fishing, yoga, and hiking. He completed many bicycle century rides and most recently completed his 12th STOKR event, approximately 135 miles in two days. Gary used his inherited hand’s on skills for a stained glass and woodworking business.
All those who knew him enjoyed his easy-going spirit, helpfulness and generosity. Gary was easy to talk to and would carry on conversations with anyone.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents Emma Jean and Paul and newborn sister Paula. He is survived by his wife Lynn; stepfather Nelson, who was a mentor to Gary; brothers Andy (Cheri) and Dennis (Susan); step-sisters Terri and Kay Cecilia; step-brothers Michael and Pat (Jane); in-laws Teresa (Pat), Rob (Marilee), Sue (Dudley), Sandra (Mike), Gene (Terri) and Cathie; and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Gary was ready and excited to take on a new chapter in life, opening doors for fulfillment. Though an unplanned journey, whatever it holds, Gary will continue to be his special self to all those souls who are fortunate enough to now cross his path. Gary was such a loving husband, poppie to Josie and Dayta, and great coworker and friend to so many. He will be dearly missed.
