Gail Renaldo Raty

March 22, 1925 — December 31, 2015

Gail Renaldo Raty was born on March 22, 1925 and sadly passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at home in Big Sky, MT with Daughter Linda and Son-in-Law John. Gail was born in Challis, ID to Steve and Oma Raty. Gail moved to California in 1934 with his parents, five brothers and sister.



Gail proudly joined the Navy during World War II and served aboard the USS Corregidor manning the ships 5 inch gun. He returned to the Georgetown area after the war and worked as a lumberjack from 1946 to 1958. Gail went to work for Aerojet General in 1959 as a mechanic building Polaris Submarine Missles and Minute Man Inter-Continental Missles. In 1960 he, his wife and two daughters moved to Rancho Cordova. In 1966 Gail went to work for United Airlines as an aircraft overhaul mechanic at the San Francisco Airport Maintenance Base. The family moved to San Bruno that year. Gail and his wife retired to Aptos, CA where he continued to live until his move to Montana in May 2015.



Gail lived a full life in retirement, traveling, and spending time with family and loved ones. Without fail he volunteered to help others. He was always grateful for his wonderful life.



Gail was preceded in death by his Father, Mother, older Brother Lowell and younger Brother Steve. He is survived by four younger siblings; Brothers Keith, Lyle and Don and Sister Joyce. He is also survived by his Daughters, Susan and Linda, two Grandchildren, Bill and Dana and three Great Granddaughters, Shasta, Madi and Lily.



At Gail’s request there will be no services and ash scattering at sea will be performed.
