Florence Ellis Covington, 93, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Neil Lynch, of Gallatin Gateway, Montana. Florence was born on November 15, 1915, in Knoxville, Tennessee, the 10th of 15 children of Franklin and Nettie Ellis. Prior to Tuesday, Florence was the eldest of four surviving siblings. Florence lived a full and happy life, and will be greatly missed. Preceding her in death are her parents, her former husband Frank Sparks, her husband Robert A. Covington, and step-daughter Reva Sentell. Survivors include her daughter Frankie Charlotte Sparks Lynch, son-in-law Neil J. Lynch, five grandchildren, Kim and Don O#8217;Hair, Anne Marie and Len DeClercq, Joe and Colleen Lynch, Marcy and Brian Gallup, and Kelly and Jason Griswold, their children, ten great=grandchildren, and one great- great-grandchild. Also, her step son-in-law, Walter Sentell, his son Robert Sentell and their children and grandchildren of Gurley, Alabama. Her three surviving siblings are Dora Hickey, Imogene Prince, and Joyce Ellis, all of the Knoxville, Tennessee area, and their children and grandchildren. The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Amos House Homeless Shelter, P.O. Box 11194, Bozeman, MT 59719, or the Women#8217;s Ministry Union (WMU) at Piney Grove Baptist Church, 2109 Piney Grove Church Rd, Knoxville, TN 37909. A Celebration of Florence#8217;s Life will be held at the Lynch home at 64885 Gallatin Road in Gallatin Gateway, Montana on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at 1:00 pm. A Memorial Service will be announced at Piney Grove Baptist Church in Knoxville.
