Eva was born in Kokoma, Indiana on Dec 13, 1954 to Jesus and Olivia (Alvear) Salinas. After moving to Ohio in her late twenties, she began her true vocation by earning a Ohio State Medical license to practice massage therapy. She continued to receive training in advanced techniques in trigger point therapy based on the work of Travell and Simons and became a certified reflexologist through the International Institute of Reflexology. She was nationally certified in massage therapy through the NCTMB and was a Reiki Master. She was a founding lifetime member of the Ohio Association of Reflexologists.
Eva was a gifted teacher instructing hundreds of students. She was lead instructor and coordinator of the massage therapy program at the Knox County Career Center in Ohio for over 10 years. She taught advanced techniques with Timberlake Massage Therapies and taught at Columbus State Community College and Central Ohio School of Massage. She was in private practice for 25 years as owner of Medical Massage and Reflexology.
After the birth of her grandchildren, she reinvented herself by moving to Montana to work for the U.S. Forest Service while maintaining her license to practice massage in Ohio and Montana.
She was an avid reader and researcher with an inquisitive mind. She loved the Peanuts character Snoopy. She enjoyed ballroom dancing and was always singing with her beautiful voice. In her younger years, she sang in the church choir and taught Sunday school. Eva had a larger than life energy and a kind and giving personality. She had a soft heart for animals. She touched many hearts and was loved by her many friends.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Daniel, and daughter Shawna (Kelly) Noyd, her beloved grandchildren Keira and Reiss, siblings Maria McCoy, Ray Salinas, Robert Salinas, Debbie Salinas (IN), Jesse Salinas (MI), Lawrence Salinas (TX), Mother-in-law Shirley Campbell, sister-in-law Michelle Campbell and Laura (Gene) Triplett (Newark, OH), and her many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Elva Susan Patrick and Virginia Salinas.
A celebration of Eva’s life will be held 2PM, Monday, May 23 at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Bozeman, MT.
