Elvon 'Al' Hoskins

ElVon 'Al' Hoskins passed away Saturday, March 19, 2011 at the age of 63 after complications from prostate cancer. He was born November 15, 1947 to Loyce Myers and Donald Hoskins in Pocatello, ID. ElVon was raised in Pocatello, married Jane Wilson Hoskins and began a 40 year successful career in retail management with Skaggs Drug, American Stores and Osco Drug. He embarked in over 14 moves in eight states. With a passion for the great outdoors, Al spent as much time as possible with his family camping, skiing, motorcycle riding, hunting and his most loved hobby of fly fishing. When not at home in Montana he traveled to Russia, South and Central America, Mexico and Alaska in search of the big catch. One of his favorite places to fish was Australia. Al liked to spend time fishing with those in need of a fishing buddy through the Warriors Quiet Waters Foundation and 'Reel Recovery' programs. Al is survived by his wife Jane; sons Scott of Minneapolis, MN, James of Phoenix, AZ, and Matt (Jen) of Belgrade, MT; mother Loyce Crane of Boise, ID; sister Merilee (Ron) Ellsworth of Boise, ID; and sister-in-law Francie Stephens of Pocatello, ID, as well as many friends and family around the country. A celebration of Al's life will be held at a later date.
