Elizabeth Katherine Monforton

Elizabeth “Betty” Katherine May Dolan Monforton, 92, passed away November 12, 2019. She was born in Ismay, MT on June 12, 1927 to Sarafica “Sadie” and Paul May.



Betty graduated from Ismay High School in 1945 and moved to Miles City to work for the Ma Bell Telephone Company. On November 1, 1947 she married Donald E. Dolan and they had two sons, Donald C. and Robert D. They moved to Bozeman and she worked for the telephone company again until 1972. Don passed away November 1974.



Betty retired and married Jack Monforton on December 26, 1981 to 2005.



Betty loved her family and sitting on her swing watching the world go by. She enjoyed puzzles, watching The Price is Right every day, Molly B on Saturday and Wheel of Fortune with Buck and Michele most every night, her birds and little home.



Betty is survived by son Donald Chester (Jerrie) Dolan of Helena, grandchildren Daysha DeTienne, Morgan Dolan, Buddy Dolan and great-grandchildren Trevan, Tate, Drew; son Robert Dennis (Kelly) Dolan of Helena and grandchildren Buck (Michele) Dolan, Jenny (Craig) Jourdonnais, Beau Albright, Shayna Albright; step-daughter Dee Raisler, grandson John (Lori) Raisler and great-grandchildren Laina, Joel, Katrina, Jill; step-daughter Jackie (Donald) Walker, grandchildren Shawn, Julie and great-grandchildren Lane, Kasidi; step-daughter Mary Monforton and nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her siblings Paul, Ed, John, Joe and Mary.



Special thanks to Monica Dahl and Eleana Montoya Liska for spending time with Betty, Karen Johnson for caring for Betty in her last days, hospice nurses for caring for Betty and her family, and Little Jill for her special bond with Grandma Betty and being her best friend.



At Betty’s request, no service will be held at this time. A graveside service will be held in the spring.
