Edward Orville Halvorson

June 11, 1955 — March 13, 2016

Edward “Skeeter” Orville Halvorson Jr, was born on June 11, 1955 in Billings, MT, to Edward C. Halvorson, and Evelyn Wingert Halvorson. A husband, brother, father, son, grandfather, and friend, Skeeter was loving, loyal, hardworking, and funny.

Skeeter is unforgettable. He loved so many, and with so much of himself. His family, friends, Kendal, & Paul, you were his fellow musketeers – also, the damn Raiders!

Skeeter loved, and was so very proud of his children Stephannie, Alicia, Bryce, Caitlan, and Cody. Now, Skeeter is with his brothers, Jeff, Greg, and son Jared Owen. Skeeter’s grandchildren are the hope for a better world, and he always said their parents would help them accomplish that.

Skeeter was most recently a driver for Big Sky Shuttle, and previously worked in sales, for AFLAC, for House of Clean, and also served in the U.S. Armed forces as a Navy medic attached to the Marine Corp. He was a leader for the Boy Scouts in Rapid City; he loved fishing, hunting, and war history.

Skeeter’s friends are too many to list, but you each know who you are, and that he loved you and looked forward to times together, no matter how much time had passed. He lost several loved ones these last few years, and chose to remember them with the laughter and the good times; now that’s how we will remember him. We love and will miss Skeeter dearly.

Skeeter is survived by his parents, his wife, Deborah A. Halvorson, and children: Stephannie & Curt Villa Davidson of Wentzville, MO, Alicia Villa of Rapid City, SD, Bryce & Jessica Villa, Davenport, IA, Cody Halvorson, Rapid City, SD, and Caitlan Halvorson of Bozeman; and sisters Angie (Howard) Skjervem of Helena, MT, Robin (Jim) Decker of Salem, OR, Carmel (Dean) Hofer of Bozeman, and brothers Randy (Bonnie) Halvorson of Bozeman, and Curt Halvorson, of Orting, WA.

A Celebration of the life of Edward “Skeeter” will be held at Dahl Funeral Chapel on Thursday, March 17th, at 2 p.m. ; visitation will be held from 1:00 pm-1:45 pm; in honor of Skeet’s love for St. Paddy’s day, please wear Green to the service. Burial will be at the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD at a later date. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.dahlcares.com.
