Earl H. Isbell, 89, of Belgrade passed away February 18, 2009 at Gallatin Rest Home. Earl was born on March 13, 1919 in Belgrade, Montana to Ivan Ray and Hattie Mae (Schyett) Isbell. In December of 1919, the family moved to Inglewood, California. Earl received his schooling there, as well as working part time at various automotive jobs to help his family with expenses during lean times. In 1938, Earl married Mary Schaefer. The two had a son, Ronald, in 1939. His second marriage in 1956 produced a daughter, Beverly, born in 1958. After serving in the Army during World War II, Earl worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Los Angeles County Road Department for 30 years. After retiring, he enjoyed traveling around the U.S. and Canada in his motor home. In 1988, he and Harriet O#8217;Malley were married in Montana, where Earl spent the remainder of his life. Earl was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Raymond, Donald, and Clifford; sister Zella; and daughter Beverley. Survivors include his wife Harriet, of Belgrade; son Ronald (Susan) Isbell, of Stuart, FL; sister Lenore Ulrich, of Torrance, CA; five grandchildren, several nieces, and one nephew. Cremation has taken place. Interment will take place in the spring at Springhill Cemetery, where Earl will be put to rest with his Schyett ancestors, his mother, and brothers Raymond and Clifford.
