Donald Edward Morin

Donald Edward Morin was born on April 23, 1925 in Alma, NE and passed away on January 20, 2014 at Canyon Creek Memory Care in Billings, MT. He was the son of Edward and Magdalene (Weinand) Morin. He was raised on the family farm in Orleans, NE and graduated from Orleans High School. At the age of 13 Don started his career with Montgomery Ward in Holdege, NE in the stock room. He would continue to work for them for the next 46 years in various assignments in stores in Boulder, CO, Alliance, NE, Great Falls, MT, Glendive, MT, Bozeman, MT, Longview, WA, Portland, OR and retiring as an operation manager in a large new store in Beaverton, OR. Don married Nina Chesnut on July 7, 1956 in Whitehall, MT. They enjoyed many years traveling, dog & horse races and the Oregon coast. She preceded him in death on June 2009. Survivors include his sisters-in-law Dorothy Chesnut and Sammy Weyand. He is also survived by Nieces & Nephews: Marsha (Ken) Schmidt, Ron Chesnut & Mike (Allison) Chesnut and Toni Weyand, as well as several cousins. Cremation has taken place. Inurnment ceremony will be held at the Columbarium at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Friends are to meet at Dahl Funeral Chapel at 1:15 Feb 1. A reception will be held at the chapel following the inurnment. The family would like to thank the caring staff at Canyon Creek Memory Care for all the little “extra’” love you showed him and treated him the way he deserved. Also thank you to the caring staff of Rocky Mountain Hospice. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes association.
