David Dean Muth Sr., 74 of Bozeman, passed away Friday morning, February 20, 2015. He was born in Modesto, CA to Donald and Edith (Willit) Muth on September 20, 1940. He married Norma Forrester on July 10, 1962. Together they raised two children, April and David Jr. Dave and Norma and family moved to Bozeman in July, 1979. Dave was employed by Mt. Ellis Academy; first as the manager of the school bakery, and then later as manager of plant services. Dave also enjoyed teaching carpentry and woodwork as an Industrial Arts teacher. Dave had an amazing talent for envisioning, creating, and building things. Dave could work with most any material to make whatever he wanted or needed. His all-time favorite thing to build was a boat. He built boats ranging from a wood and fiberglass 25 ft. trimiran sailboat, a 33 ft. steel monohull sailboat, strip plank canoes, 19 ft. sea kayaks, small white water kayaks, and various other fishing boats of many shapes and sizes. Norma Muth was an RN who worked at Bozeman Deaconess hospital for 24 years. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and three sisters. Survivors include his Wife Norma, daughter April; both of Bozeman; son Dave Jr. of Berrien Springs MI, 8 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, and 1 foster son, Wesley.
