Darin 'Dewey' Arts

Darin #8220;Dewey#8221; Scott Arts, 42, of Belgrade passed away Saturday, November 17, 2007. He was born July 7, 1965, in Bozeman, the youngest son of Ben and Ruby (Barnes) Arts. He was raised on the family farm southwest of Belgrade and graduated from Belgrade High School in 1983. He married Lisa Thiem in Belgrade on October 20, 1989. Dewey spent his life farming with his father. He was an avid snowmobiler and relished the times with his friends in Cooke City. He loved his dogs and enjoyed riding motorcycles, watching cartoons and playing cards, especially Texas Hold #8216;em. Dewey was also an accomplished mechanic particularly when it came to fixing tractors, snowmobiles or motorcycles. He was preceded in death by several uncles, including Ted and Gilbert Arts; two aunts; and maternal and paternal grandparents. Survivors include his wife Lisa; two sons Benjamin of the family home and Teddy of Belgrade; parents Ruby and Ben of Belgrade; sisters Carolyn Wilmont of Bozeman, Diana (Bill) Flynn and Sylvia Anderson both of Belgrade; brother Steve (Sharon) of Palisade, CO; one niece; four nephews; several aunts and cousins; and many friends. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Dahl Funeral Chapel. Cremation will follow visitation. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2007, at Dahl Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a trust fund for Benjamin at Big Sky Western Bank.
