Craig Michael Kinnaman of Big Sky, passed away September 27, 2007. Craig was born to Ray Smith and Mickey Kinnaman in Torrance California on March 12, 1952. Craig grew up in Malibu and Huntington Beach, a true California surfin#8217; boy. He loved the ocean, and all water related activities, such as skiing, sky skiing and fast boats. Craig was a competitive motorcycle desert racer, a member of the Checkers, and raced the Mint 400, the Baja 500 and Baja 1000 in Mexico. When he left the desert for the mountains of Montana, he redirected his competitive spirit and passion for speed into owning circle boats and a drag boat, which raced all over the country, winning many events. In 2006 he achieved the highly desired World Championship title with a top alcohol flat-bottomed boat and he still holds the world record in TAF at 6.45 seconds. In four short years of K-boat racing, he won 6 championships including National Titles in the K-boat class in 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007. Craig was a most giving and generous person, who took his friendships and passions seriously and his fun-loving personality always made a day, a party or an event better for his presence. Strangers were just friends he hadn#8217;t met yet, and he was always willing to give you the benefit of the doubt. Good times with Craig were always in abundance and his hosting talents will live in infamy. Craig is survived by three beautiful daughters; Jennifer (Jerod) Bos, Caty (Tracy) Flikkema, Hunter Kinnaman, his wife Nancy and former wife Judy Lynn, and father Ray, who all loved him dearly and will miss him terribly. Preceding him in death are his infant son Fisher Taft Kinnaman and mother Mickey Kinnaman. Craig#8217;s joyful and lovable spirit lives on with the legacy of his children and grandchildren, Jacob Bos, Rachel Bos and Brianne Flikkema. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hunter Kinnaman Benefit Fund at American Bank in Big Sky. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, October 2, at 11:00 AM, at the Big Sky Chapel in Big Sky Montana, with interment at Sunset Hills Cemetery.
