Clarice Saner, 85, died February 6, 2009 at the Waterford Assisted Living Center in Helena. Clarice had been in declining health for the past months. Clarice Lucille Morford Saner was born in Brackenridge, PA on June 5, 1923 to Clara Myrtle Bandi Morford and Lewis Lavern Morford. When Clarice was five, the family moved to Natrona Heights, PA where she attended schools and graduated from Har-Brack Union High School in May 1940. Clarice then attended Robert Morris Business College in Pittsburgh, PA. After graduation in June 1941, she worked at several different positions in the Pittsburgh area: as a stenographer at Pittsburgh Plate Glass Co. in Creighton, as a junior accountant at the General Electric Company office in Brackenridge, and as a secretary at the Gulf Research and Development Company in Harmarville, where she met her future husband. On May 24, 1947, Clarice married Herbert Albert Saner in Bozeman, MT where she spent the rest of her life until moving to the Waterford in August 2006. While her children attended local schools, Clarice was active in the PTA. She was an active member of the Holy Rosary Altar Society and served terms as secretary-treasurer and president. Clarice devoted most of her time to raising her four children. She especially enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends. She delighted in her role of grandmother to her six grandchildren and had the joy of meeting her only great grandchild last May. Clarice was preceded in death by her parents, her older brother, Lavern, and by her husband, Al. Survivors include her four children, Beth Saner, FSPA of Chicago, IL, Bill (Jan) Saner of El Cerrito, CA, Joe Saner of Bozeman, and Barb (Jim) Hogan of Helena; her six grandchildren, Steven (Keeley) Saner, Jamie Saner, Anthony, Adam, James and Brittany Hogan; and one great grandchild, Aidan Saner. The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at Resurrection Parish, followed by interment at Sunset Hills Cemetery and a luncheon at Resurrection Parish.
