CLARA E. WAGNER Clara E Wagner, passed away, on November 22, 2007,at home, surrounded by her loving family, from a courageous battle with lung cancer. Clara was born in Dickinson, ND on March 27, 1928, to Nick J. and Katie A. Nuber Herold. She moved to Montana with her family when she was 10 years old. Her Father settled in the Laurel, Molt and Park City areas where he farmed until Clara married. Clara attended schools in Laurel, Molt, Park City, and Bozeman, MT. She married Thomas R. Wagner on September 12, 1945 in Laurel, MT., at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. She and Tom moved to Bozeman, MT where Tom attended college (MSC) and Clara attended Gallatin County High School (as the first married student to graduate from Gallatin County), in 1946. In 1971, she attended Bozeman Vo-Tech School, graduating in 1972. She was employed by Bozeman Realty as a bookkeeper/receptionist from 1974 until 1981 then took a job with the Montana Department of Agriculture, as bookkeeper/receptionist. She worked for the Montana Department of Agriculture for almost 18 years, retiring in December, 1998. Clara enjoyed her family, crocheting, cooking and baking. She entered the baking competition at the Montana Winter Fair, winning ribbons in the Baking Division. She was very proud that her Choke Cherry Jelly won the Blue Ribbon in 1982. Clara enjoyed inviting the family, grand-children and great-grand children for Christmas Eve and various dinners. Clara also enjoyed dancing. She was a past member of the Bozeman Folk Dancing Club and the Bozeman Country Scottish Dance Club. She was secretary for the Scottish Dancers for many years. Clara was a member of St. James Episcopal Church and volunteered her services there. Clara is survived by seven children: A daughter, Sandra Kay Murphy (John Earls) of Bozeman, MT., sons Douglas(Barbara) Wagner, Timothy (Barbara) Wagner, Rodney (Dorothy) Wagner, all of Billings, MT, Brad (April) Wagner of Three Forks, Ronald Wagner (Lisa Ogden) of Bozeman, and Brett Wagner. She is survived by 13 grand-children, including Patsy Burd, who had a special relationship with Gram, and 13 great-grand-children and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Clayton Scott, and one brother, E.C. Herold both of Tigard, OR. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas R Wagner, her parents, Nick and Katie Herold and one brother, Joe Herold and his wife, Clara, and one sister, Anna Linster and her husband Carl. Visitation Tuesday, Nov. 27 2007, from 5:30 - 8 p.m. at Dahl Funeral Chapel. Cremation to follow. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, November 28, 2007, at 1:30 PM at St. James Episcopal Church. Interment of the urn to follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery.
