Chuck Martin

Charles Edward Martin, 63, of Bozeman passed away Saturday, September 4, 2010. Chuck was born on June 8, 1947 in Modesto, California to Elmer Martin and Leacy Cruz. He grew up in Modesto and graduated with an associate degree from the Modesto Junior College of Criminal Justice. On June 29, 1968, Chuck married the love of his life, Judy Stewart, in Oakdale, California. Together, they raised two children, Charlie and Alicia. He worked for the Oakdale Police Department, the Gallo Winery, and the Ely State Prison prior to moving to Montana. He then worked for the Montana State Prison and Simkins Hallin in Bozeman. Chuck enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. Above all else, he loved his family and helping anyone he could. Chuck was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Gist Martin, mother, Lecie Marie Cruz, step-father, Raymond Beltron Cruz, and siblings, David, Elmer #8220;Buddy#8221;, and Alta Martin. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Judy; son, Charlie (Rhonda) Martin of Billings, MT; daughter, Alicia (Jim) Martin-Boerst of Bozeman, MT; and grandchildren, Raymond, Elizabeth, and William Martin, Jimmy and Eddie Boerst, and Devin and Kendall Damjanovich . A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 on Thursday, September 9, 2010 at the Bozeman Christian Center.
