Catherine Gower McLean, age 88, of Bozeman, MT passed away December 13th, 2017. She was born on August 29th, 1929 in Toelle, UT to parents Dolph and Mary (Mollie) Clemmesen who immigrated from Barrow-In-Furness, England. Cathie graduated from Placer County High School and married Pharrel Gower. In 1957, they moved to Bozeman, MT with their children Christine, Dolph, and Rock (deceased). After Pharrel’s passing, Cathie met and married Howard (Mac) McLean. They later moved to Belgrade.
Throughout her life, Cathie worked as the friendly local Avon lady and for Avis-Rent-A-Car. She enjoyed participating in the Catholic Foresters and will be most remembered for deeply loving her friends and living life “her own way.”
Cathie is preceded in death by her parents, husbands Pharrel and Mac, and son Rock Gower. She is survived by her daughter Chris Enebo (Gene); grandsons Brian and Scott; great granddaughters Emma, Margo and Gwen; son Dolph Gower (Lisa) and grandchildren Jessica and Johnathan; daughter-in-law Kim Gower (Rock); Bill Sabel; grandchildren Mollie, Dane, Ryan and Kevin; step-sons Larry and Roger McLean and their children; step-daughter Shirley Chambers, children and grandchildren; the Rick and Kay Diggens family, children and grandchildren, who affectionally called her “Noni”; as well as the Jack and Carol Cowlishaw family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Cathie has gone to join her “BFF’s” Carol Cowlishaw and Grace Gower. Right now they are having pie and cokes at the 4B’s!
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 220 W Main Street, Bozeman, MT on June 15th, 2018 at 10:00 a.m.. The inurnment will be held at 11:00 a.m., followed by a celebration of life and reception at the Parish Center at Holy Rosary, sponsored by the Foresters.
