Carol Elaine Sutton, 69, of Bozeman, passed away in Billings, Montana on Saturday, October 22, 2011. She was born December 29, 1941 in Bozeman, Montana, to George and Ruby (Bates) Cooper. Carol was raised in the Amsterdam and Manhattan, graduating from Manhattan High School in 1960. She married Steve Houser, the couple later divorced. She married James Sutton on October 28, 1973 in Portland, Oregon. Carol worked as an Executive Secretary in her earlier years working for State Agriculture Stabilization and Conservation in Montana, First Bank in Seattle, WA, The IRS in Portland, OR and Memphis TN, The United States Navy in San Diego, CA and HUD Housing in Memphis, TN. When Jim retired in 1981, Carol and Jim moved to Bozeman. In Bozeman Carol began her career in Real Estate. She was a broker/realtor for Century 21, ERA and then her own company Carol Sutton Real Estate. She was a member of the Montana Association of Realtors. Her hobbies included her flower garden and garage sales. Carol and Jim also shared a love of dogs, being involved in animal rescue and having dachshunds of their own. Carol was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband James #8220;Jim#8221; Sutton of Bozeman; step-son and daughter-in-law James and Els Sutton of Hinesville, GA; step-daughter and son-in-law Brenda and Wayne Pohlman of Missoula, MT; grandsons Alec, Tristan, and Justin; brother and sister-in-law Stuart and Sandra Cooper of Manhattan, MT; sister and brother-in-law Barbara and Terry McLaughlin of Bozeman, MT, 2 nieces Michelle (Mike) McLees of Cypress, TX, Stacie Baker of Belgrade, MT and Carol#8217;s 2 dachshunds, Tiny and Lady. A celebration of Carol#8217;s life will be announced at a later date. Memorials may be made in her name to the Heart of the Valley Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 11390, Bozeman, MT 59719.
