Byron Lee Tressler, 90, passed away peacefully on Saturday December 19, 2015 in his Bozeman home.
Byron was born on September 28, 1925 to Harriett Broviak and Maynard Tressler. He resided for most of his life in Glasgow, MT.
Byron met Lois Arnold in Seattle Washington and they married on October 5, 1946. Upon his graduation from Business College, Byron and Lois relocated to Glasgow MT to join the Arnold family business, build their life together, and raise their family.
Byron owned and operated numerous Ready Mix and Road Construction businesses throughout the state of Montana. He was extremely proud of his involvement in the construction of Glasgow Air Force Base. He was active in the Montana Contractor’s Association, Elks Club, was a Free Mason and Shriner, and instrumental in many projects that helped build and grow the membership of Sunnyside Golf & Country Club. Upon retirement Byron and Lois moved to their summer home on the Stillwater River in Absarokee, MT and spent winter months in their Arizona and Nevada homes.
Preceding Byron in death were his parents, Maynard Tressler, Harriett and William Tower, brothers Edward Tressler and Duane Tower, and his wife of 63 years Lois Arnold Tressler.
He is survived by his daughters: Jacquie (Michael) Budde of Bozeman, Jan (Frank) Shanks of Red Lodge, Jill Tressler of Bozeman, grandchildren: Brooke (Carsten) Laaber, Paige (Rebecca)Shanks, Dylan Shanks, Mason Shanks, Mati Tressler, great grandsons: Kai Laaber and Porter Shanks, sister Jowan Brand, Brother in laws: Don Pehlke, R.J.”Randy” (Cindy) Arnold, numerous nephews and nieces and their families.
Byron’s family would like to thank the wonderful staff and residents of Bozeman Lodge for the love, care, support and friendship extended to him during the past six years. Additional gratitude and thanks to “Granada”, the staff of Rocky Mountain Hospice, and his very special caregiver Maryssa, for the warmth, compassion, and comfort provided to him while in their care.
A memorial service will take place at Bozeman Lodge, 1547 N Hunters Way on Saturday, December 26th at 10:30am. A Celebration of Life will be held at Sunny Side Golf and Country club in Glasgow at a later date.
