Baird Brian J. Baird, of Bozeman, passed away on December 10, 2007, surrounded by his family at Bozeman Deaconess Hospital. He was his mother#8217;s special child and constant companion for over 40 years. He was born September 17, 1967, in Mitchell, South Dakota, to Robert and Carol (Yungbluth) Baird. When he was 10 years old, he and his family moved to Bozeman and built the home where they still live. Brian graduated from Bozeman High and then worked for Reach Inc., a program for the developmentally disabled. With Reach he worked on many projects throughout the years, his favorites being for Gibson Guitar and the recycling program. Brian loved competing in Special Olympics, starring in track, swimming and bowling. He also loved walks in the mountains, cross country skiing, and horseback riding. All music was his passion. He had a ball collection, balls of every sort and size. His love of dogs and cats took him to the Humane Society where he played with the animals. His favorite treats were burgers, ice creams, French fries, coffee and Oreo#8217;s. He saw joy in everything that happened, from the sun coming up to it getting dark at night. He is survived by his mother, Carol, and his brothers, Rex Baird of Bozeman, MT, Bernard (Teri) Baird of Vancouver, WA , and Stephen (Kris) Baird of Eau Claire, WI, four sisters, Barbara (Jeff) Luther of Enterprise, AL., Therese (Ron) Mueller of Lancaster, PA., Veronica (Jim) Austerman of Mountain Lake, MN., and Eve (Pat) Murphy of Baxter, IA. He is also survived by 13 nieces and nephews. Brian was preceded in death by his father, Robert and his grandparents, Adam and Mary Yungbluth and Frank and Pearl Baird. A Vigil for Brian will be held at 7:00 PM Friday, December 14, 2007, with visitation from 5:00 PM till 7:00 PM, at the Dahl Funeral Chapel in Bozeman, with a Funeral Mass held Saturday, December 15, at 11:00 AM at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Bozeman, MT. Brian will be buried in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, in Armour, South Dakota on Monday, December 17, 2007, at 3:00 pm.There will be visitation at Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Armour, from 2:00 pm till 3:00 pm. The family asks that memorial contributions be made to REACH, Inc., 322 Gallatin Park Dr., Bozeman, MT 59715
