Beverly Ganzel

An angel got her wings early Wednesday morning. It was a beautiful, crisp, sunny morning. Beverly left this world with her daughter Melissa and good friend Cindy by her side. Beverly was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts to Katherine and Manual Travers. At the age of 18 Bev attended Massachusetts General where she earned her nursing degree. Bev worked as a nurse in Florida until her cancer diagnosis in the fall of 2008. She was a wonderful, compassionate nurse where back rubs always followed your medication. Bev loved the beach and spent half of her life in California. She also lived in Colorado and Montana before she moved to Florida in 1995. Bev was a lifetime fan of the Oakland Raiders. She also loved animals, reading, trivia, dancing and politics. She loved all music from Frank Sinatra and Barbara Streisand to Kid Rock and Eminem. She was a liberal thinker and had friends from the ages of 20 to 90. Bev#8217;s loss will leave a void in our hearts forever, but we are so happy knowing that her suffering is over. Mum and Grammy, we will miss your easy laughter, wise words and positive outlook on life. God bless you until we meet again. Beverly leaves behind her son Michael Ganzel, daughter Melissa Ganzel Smith; granddaughters Katherine, Jessica, Olivia and Ava Smith; her former son-in-law David Smith; nieces Susan Maquire, Jennifer Ganzel; nephew Jason Ganzel; sister-in-law Sandra Ganzel; grand dogs, Dan, Annie, Danny; grand kitty Bella and many wonderful friends. A memorial and celebration of Beverly#8217;s life is planned for 11:00 am, Friday, October 1 at the West Shore of River Rock Lake. Memorials may be made in her name to Susan G.
