Barton Edwin Hahn, 93, of Bozeman, passed away March, 19, 2008 at home on his farm by the Gallatin River. He was born November 25, 1914 in Darby, Montana to Adam and Anna (Hendrickson) Hahn. Barton grew up and graduated from high school in Darby. He went to college in Bozeman and received his masters in microbiology at Purdue University. He married Ann Wischmann on June 10, 1940 in Circle, Montana. Together they had four children. He built 4 homes for his family himself. The last home he built was on the farm on Amsterdam road and the banks of the Gallatin River. It took him ten years to complete and he used the predominant, renewable, crop of the little farm for his building material, Gallatin River rock. He is Professor Emeritus in Botany, teaching for years at Montana State College and Montana State University. He thoroughly enjoyed working his farm. Barton was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Fred Hahn and his sister; Eleanore Ward. He is survived by his children; Henry (Pat) Hahn of Bioela, Queensland, Australia, Edwin (Mamie) Hahn of Sun City West, Arizona, Allan (Luud) Hahn of Zoetermer, the Netherlands, and Maryann Hahn of Belgrade. Cremation has taken place. A memorial mass will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at Valley of the Flowers Catholic Church in Belgrade, MT. Interment of the urn will take place in Circle, MT.
