Audelle Schneider Estes

Audelle Schneider Foust Estes, 95, of Bozeman, Montana, died at Bozeman Deaconess Hospital on September 20, 2024.

She was born in Baker, Montana in 1929 to Elmer Schneider and Audrey Dickey, and was their only child. Audelle attended schools in Baker, graduating in 1947. She moved to Bozeman and started college at Montana State College (now University). She married Jack Foust of Los Angeles in her second year of college. They had four children. Later divorced, Audelle went back to finish her degree in Elementary Education. After graduation, Audelle was offered a teaching job at Hawthorne School in 1963. She taught first grade for 25 years, retiring in 1988. Audelle was very involved with the MEA (Montana Education Association), an avid Bobcat fan attending home basketball games for many years, volunteered for PBS fundraising, and volunteering at the Bozeman Senior Center as well. She helped with the Bozeman Swim Team while her kids were swimming.

Audelle married Harold (Mick) Estes in May of 1980. They had many happy years together before his passing in 2007.

Audelle was preceded in death by her parents, her son Kent, daughter Dale Lynn and her husband Mick. She is survived by son Jan (Karen), daughter Glenna (Gary), Mick’s children, Linda, Becky, Mike, and Peggy Ann, 15 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and her beloved kitty Lily.

A private family celebration will be planned at a later date.
