Anna Mae Miller, 99, of Manhattan, passed away May 22, 2016. She was born March 19, 1917 in Ringling, MT. She was raised and educated in Miles City, MT. Following her high school graduation, she attended the U of Minn. and earned a degree in nursing. She was conscripted into the service for our country during WWII, as a surgical nurse at Ft. Harrison, near Helena, MT. She married E.H. “Bud” Miller in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Miles City, MT. Following their marriage, they made their home in Manhattan, MT. In addition to being a ranch wife, she worked as the operating room supervisor at the old Bozeman Deaconess Hospital. She will be remembered for being a great cook. Her family fondly remembers her cinnamon rolls and fried chicken. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and cooking.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bud, her brothers; Hugo, Don, Greg, Francis “Spud” and Art.
Survivors include her 3 children; Jane (Jerry) Ocheskey of Cardwell, MT., Joseph Heeb Miller of Manhattan and Mary Catherine (Philip) VerWolf of Broadus, MT Grandchildren; Kathy, Ben, Mindy and many great grandchildren. Brothers; Thomas and Luke Muggli, sisters; Lorraine Kaiser and Agatha Muggli, OSB and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 2 PM, May 31st at Dahl Funeral Chapel. A special thank you to Hospice Bozeman Health and her personal nurse, Becca A. Memorials may be made in her name to:
