Alice Louise Miller, born on July 2, 1936, in Lexington, Nebraska, to William and Esther Kjar, peacefully departed this world on November 26, 2024, leaving behind a legacy steeped in love, warmth, and an adventurous spirit. A beloved sister, Aunt, and friend, Alice's journey through life was marked by both challenge and grace, and she touched the lives of all who knew her.
Alice's career in the healthcare industry began after she earned her high school diploma and attended Airline College, eventually leading her to a fulfilling role in Patient Registration at Bozeman Deaconess Hospital. In addition to her professional life, she also worked as a waitress during her high school years, exemplifying her strong work ethic.
Throughout her life, Alice lived in various places, including Spokane, Bozeman, Yakima, Washington, and Anchorage, Alaska. She was an active member of the Holy Rosary Parish Catholic Women and devoted her time to serving her community.
Alice was known for her many passions, including bowling, flower gardening, jigsaw puzzles, ceramics, and gourmet cooking. However, she will be most fondly remembered as a spirited daredevil, always embracing life with enthusiasm and bravery.
Alice is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ed Miller; her son, Little Joe; her parents, William and Esther Kjar; and her brothers, Rolland and Lawrence Kjar. She is survived by her loving sister, Mary Ellen Pitt; her sister Carol (Don) Halseth; and several cherished nieces and nephews.
In honor of Alice's life, a Rosary will be recited at Holy Rosary Parish on December 11, 2024, at 10:30 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. The Funeral Mass will be livestreamed for those unable to attend in person and can be found at www.holyrosarybozeman.org/livestream . A reception will be held at the church immediately after the Mass.
Alice will be laid to rest alongside her husband and son at West Hills Memorial Park in Yakima, Washington. Her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
